Man charged with assaulting Attorney General investigator, facing drug felonies

A man accused of panhandling is facing felony charges after allegedly assaulting an Attorney General’s investigator.
Sixty-one-year-old Kelly Duane Thompson is charged with assault on a peace officer and possession of methamphetamine.
Court documents say he shoved an investigator and splashed coffee in his face before police later found syringes, a glass pipe, and meth.
If convicted, Thompson could serve up to 10 years in prison. He's out on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond.
