Three local workers are now advancing in their careers thanks to the Guam Contractors Association Registered Apprenticeship Program in partnership with the Guam Department of Labor.

A graduation ceremony took place during a recent Guam Contractors Association’s General Membership Meeting luncheon.

Henry Abina and Rodel Snaer of BME & Sons both completed the four-year electrical program, while Curtis Rosario of Pacific Rim completed the three-year heavy equipment operator program.

“These graduates represent the hard work and commitment it takes to complete a registered apprenticeship,” said acting Governor Josh Tenorio. “They now bring a higher level of expertise to their companies, strengthening Guam’s skilled workforce.”

Abina and Snaer were part of a larger cohort of apprentices at BME & Sons.

With these two now finished, the company has successfully advanced several apprentices through the program, including one who completed last year.

Pacific Rim also continues to support multiple apprentices, with Rosario’s completion marking another milestone in its investment in workforce development.

Tenorio praised the graduates, adding, “These accomplishments show the power of apprenticeship in preparing our people for meaningful careers. By investing in workforce development, we are giving our residents the opportunity to succeed while ensuring that our island has the skilled labor force it needs to grow.”

“I want to thank GCA Trades Academy for their partnership and providing the training and classes to these graduates. Every day we push for workforce development through our programs, including and especially apprenticeship, which provides skilled labor, technical expertise, and hands-on experience in the field of practice. This is a proven model for success, and we will continue to use this formula to strengthen Guam’s workforce,” added GDOL Director David Dell’Isola.
