A hotel employee is behind bars, accused of a string of violent and sexual assaults against a coworker, charges that could put him in prison for more than 13 years.

According to court documents, 42-year-old Norwin Simao Nanpei is charged with multiple counts, including third-degree criminal sexual conduct, attempted fourth-degree CSC, assault, and harassment.

Prosecutors say the attacks began earlier this month when Nanpei, allegedly intoxicated, was caught on surveillance cameras touching the woman inappropriately, throwing a crutch at her, and later slapping and choking her.

The complaint details two separate incidents, one on Aug, 3 and another on Aug. 11, where Nanpei allegedly tried to forcibly kiss the victim, blocked her from leaving, and sexually assaulted her.

Nanpei has six prior convictions for crimes including family violence and driving under the influence.

He’s being held on $10,000 cash bail while awaiting trial.
