Francis Jerome Taisacan, 30, and Bryan Joseph Guerrero, 36, are facing serious charges after authorities say they attacked a corrections officer at the Department of Corrections in Mangilao.

The incident happened during a “Name to Face” headcount in Post 18. Investigators say Guerrero allegedly grabbed the officer from behind, restraining his arms, while Taisacan grabbed the officer’s legs, taking him to the ground.

The officer was restrained and tackled before managing to break free and call for backup.

Both men were identified at the scene, taken into custody, and moved to a different housing unit.

Taisacan and Guerrero are now charged with assault on a peace officer and felonious restraint, both third-degree felonies, along with obstructing governmental functions, a misdemeanor.
