Burglary suspect arrested with stolen firearm

A 43-year-old man is behind bars, accused of burglary, theft, drug possession, and having a firearm without a valid ID.
Prosecutors say Jeremy Babauta Pangelinan broke into a home on July 22, shattering a bathroom window and stealing a Playstation 5 and a firearm from the homeowner’s nightstand.
Weeks later, police in Sånta Rita-Sumai responded to a trespassing call and spotted Pangelinan on home security video, walking with a gun near the back of a house.
Officers found him at a nearby bus stop, where he admitted tossing the weapon into nearby vegetation.
It turned out to be the same firearm stolen in July. A search of his bag turned up a makeshift pipe and two baggies of suspected methamphetamine.
Pangelinan faces multiple felonies and misdemeanors in Superior Court.
