A Mangilao man is facing serious charges after police say he stole a company truck, then claimed he simply “found” it and drove it home.

Twenty-eight-year-old Cassey Moses was charged Tuesday with theft of a motor vehicle as a second-degree felony.

According to a magistrate’s complaint, an employee at reliable Builders Inc. reported a white 2008 Ford Ranger missing early Monday morning.

The company’s gate had been left wide open, its lock and keys left on the ground.

Hours later, the stolen truck turned up just down the street, parked at a private residence on Marigold.

That’s where police found Moses, who allegedly told officers he came across the vehicle in a nearby open lot and decided to take it home.

He now faces a felony charge and is set to appear in court.
