A routine traffic stop in Dededo led to a meth bust early Monday morning.

On Aug. 4, officers patrolling Quezon Street pulled over a silver Nissan Frontier that was stopped without its rear lights on.

The driver, identified as Ronaldo P. Alviz, appeared nervous, shaking as he searched for his license and registration.

Officers grew suspicious after noticing Alviz kept looking at the area near his handbrake. He denied having any weapons but consented to a search.

Inside, police found a sealed bag of suspected methamphetamine and a makeshift pipe with residue. After initially denying ownership, Alviz later admitted the drugs were his.

He was officially arrested just minutes later and now faces a third-degree felony charge for possession of a schedule II controlled substance.
