A defendant in a high profile pandemic fraud case is facing new trouble. Tina Sanchez, one of seven people accused in a $1.9 million Pandemic Unemployment Assistance fraud ring, is due back in District Court this week after testing positive for methamphetamine.

Court records show a sweat patch sample tested positive for both meth and amphetamine, prompting the US Probation Office to ask the court to reevaluate her release conditions.

Sanchez, the mother of co-defendant Frankie Rosalin, was previously released under strict drug conditions. A hearing is now set before Magistrate Judge Michael Bordallo at 10am on August 7.

She could see her release revoked or modified.
