26 hours for 89.3: KPRG fights to stay on air after federal cuts

In response to devastating federal cuts to public broadcasting, including a $175,000 blow to Guam's only public radio station, KPRG General Manager Chris Hartig is taking to the airwaves for 26 straight hours.
From 7 a.m. Wednesday, July 30 to 9 a.m. Thursday, July 31, Hartig will host a fundraising marathon on 89.3 FM to help keep KPRG on the air.
Volunteers and community voices will join him to share what public radio means to our island, and every donor who requests it will receive a limited-edition t-shirt.
Hartig says it would take just 85 cents per person in our region to close the gap.
Donations can be made online at islapublic.org/contribute.
