A full plate for Guam lawmakers this July as 31 bills head to the session floor, including a sweeping proposal to mandate trash service for every home, a bill to let GDOE lease out old campuses, and a move to officially change Asan’s name to Assan-Ma’ina.

Senators must each pick one priority measure to push forward before the legislature shifts focus to finalizing the FY2026 budget and preparing for the 75th anniversary of the organic act in August.

Also on the table: Two competing plans for the long-abandoned Public Health building in Mangilao, emergency business licenses to ease the housing crunch, and limited sick leave for retired teachers who return to work.

Other measures cover everything from veterans’ benefits and podiatry regulations to assisted living facilities and peace officer training.

The pressure is on to make progress, fast, before time runs out.

Speaker Frank Blas Jr. says anything left on the table rolls over to September.
