Governor Lou Leon Guerrero and Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio is inviting the entire community to join in honoring 81 years of freedom and resilience at this year’s Guam Liberation Day parade and fireworks celebration.

Set for Monday, July 21, the festivities kick off at 6 a.m. with a Liberation 5k and 1-mile run, followed by the main parade at 8 a.m. along Marine Corps Drive, from Adelup to CHamoru village.

Expect colorful floats, walking groups, and tributes to war survivors and liberators.

Then at 7:21 p.m., a fireworks display hosted by the Guam Visitors Bureau will light up the sky from three locations: Hagåtña Treatment Plant, Fort Apugan, and Paseo Point.

The parade will be broadcast live at 9 a.m. on PBS Guam and Youtube. A digital parade booklet will also be available online.

This year’s theme, “Fanohge CHamoru,” is a powerful reminder of Guam’s history, resilience, and the 75th anniversary of the Organic Act.
