With concerns rising over the future of funding for the Guam Environmental Protection Agency, Guam’s Delegate to Congress James Moylan is offering reassurance and action.

The Guam EPA isn’t just about protecting our natural environment. It’s also a key player in national defense, ensuring that both civilian projects and military construction meet environmental standards.

Any disruption in funding could delay critical infrastructure, and compromise military readiness in the Indo-Pacific.

The delegate says his office began addressing the issue back in May, after the White House released its proposed “skinny budget.”

He’s since submitted formal funding requests to the House Appropriations Committee and has been advocating directly with fellow lawmakers and the U.S. EPA to protect these essential grants.

He says the message is clear: Guam’s Environmental Agency must stay fully funded for the good of our island, and the security of our nation.
