John James busted again on drug charges

A 66-year-old man already out on pre-trial release for two separate drug cases is facing new felony charges after police say they caught him with meth again.
John Albert James was pulled over early tuesday morning for a busted taillight and erratic driving. Officers say he appeared nervous and gave inconsistent stories. A K9 unit was called and alerted to drugs.
Police say they found meth, multiple pipes, and small bags in his car and on him. James told officers he’s a veteran with PTSD and uses meth to stay calm. He also admitted to sharing the drug with others—claiming he doesn’t sell it, just tries to “help everybody.”
James is charged with possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance—both felonies—with enhancements for committing crimes while on felony release.
He has three prior drug convictions. If found guilty, he faces up to 50 years in prison. His bail is set at $5,000 cash.
