“This wasn’t defense. This was deception.”

Senator Chris Barnett is demanding answers after Guam was used as a strategic decoy in a U.S. military strike—without consultation, without consent, and without any regard for the people of Guam or those who serve in uniform.

“Our people have defended this nation with honor—not because we’re forced to, but because we believe in democracy,” Barnett said. “To use us without acknowledgment is unacceptable.”

He’s calling out the dangerous imbalance in how Guam is treated: front-line when it’s convenient, sidelined when it matters most.

“We’re not in the room for diplomacy, consultation, or peace talks. That’s not just undemocratic—it’s dangerous.”

Barnett is urging Congressman James Moylan to speak up and stand up—for Guam, for transparency, for inclusion.

“This is a time for courage. Silence does not serve our people.”

He adds Guam cannot remain visible only when useful and invisible when inconvenient. We are not a pawn. We are not expendable. We are Americans—and we deserve a seat at the table.

Let this be a turning point.
