There are some new faces at the office of Guam Congressman James Moylan following what sources describe as a “mass exodus” of key staffers. KUAM News has learned of multiple resignations and claims of a toxic workplace culture.

When asked about the departures, Congressman Moylan said turnover is normal in any professional setting.

“Just like every business and every agency, people come in and they have a good time. After a certain point and their experiences, they probably gain more knowledge and can move forward to something bigger and better,” Moylan told KUAM News.

He also downplayed the impact of the staff changes.

“I’m not worried about whoever – I’m doing a good job. My staff is doing a great job. We’re representing – we’re there at all our committee meetings. And folks, of course, you got people that are behind you and those that are not. Fine, right? But that basically means I must be doing something right,” he said.

Despite the recent departures, Moylan assures the community that the transition will not affect the office’s efforts to secure critical federal funding in Washington, D.C.
