U.S. Coast Guard brought music and maritime safety to the Marshall Islands

The U.S. Coast Guard has wrapped up a 10 day mission to Majuro in the Republic of the Marshall Islands, blending music, safety, and service.
From June 1 to June 11, a Coast Guard Band Quintet, alongside search and rescue and recruiting personnel, delivered six lively performances across Majuro, sharing not only music but also boating safety tips and career opportunities in the U.S. Coast Guard.
The engagement is part of Operation Blue Pacific, including Disney and Pop favorites for younger audiences, as well as classical tunes for older listeners.
Crowds included local leaders, schoolchildren, and members of the RMI sea patrol.
Coast Guard representatives also highlighted the importance of life-saving gear, such as radios, locator beacons, and life jackets, especially after the loss of RMI’s sea ambulance.
A mobile recruiting team also met with educators and officials to expand awareness of coast guard careers, ensuring that youth in the Marshall Islands have a path to serve and succeed.
Officials say the trip strengthened partnerships and promoted a safer, more connected Pacific.
