The Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program will be extending the application period for GATE Pre-Kindergarten School Year 2025-2026 until June 23, 2025.

Students enrolled in this program will participate in an accelerated curriculum that fosters eager and effective learners to help prepare them for kindergarten.

Any child residing on the island of Guam who is four years of age by July 31, 2025 (born between August 1st, 2020 – July 31st, 2021) is eligible to apply for GATE Pre-Kindergarten.

To qualify for placement in the GATE Pre-Kindergarten program, your child must be able to interact with others without the presence of a parent or guardian, must participate in three tests: (1) a visual-motor integration test, (2) a vocabulary test, and (3) a visual-closure test and must score at least 130 on any one of these tests or get an overall score of 350.

Applications are available at any of the following GATE Pre-Kindergarten school sites or can be downloaded at https://www.gdoe.net In the “Parents” section.

A copy of your child’s birth certificate or passport is required upon submission of the pre-screening application.

Signed applications can be submitted electronically at GATE@gdoe.net or via hardcopy at GDOE’s Central Office in Tiyan. The extended deadline to submit pre-screening applications is June 23, 2025.

Testing will be conducted through July 1, 2025. If selected, parents must provide transportation to and from their school site.
