A retired Guam Police Department officer is facing serious allegations. 60-year-old Robert Denina Negrito has been charged with harassment, a petty misdemeanor, after court documents say he sent threatening text messages to a woman earlier this month.

According to the complaint, Negrito warned the woman not to "push his buttons," threatening to use a gun on her. He also reportedly sent a photo of three firearms with the caption, "my 3 new friends." The woman told police she feared for her safety after learning Negrito had access to weapons.

A witness added that Negrito has a history of becoming angry when he doesn’t get his way.

Investigators later spoke with the firearms' original owner, who confirmed the weapons were given to negrito as a gift before leaving the island.

Police took Negrito in for questioning. He admitted to sending the messages and showed them to officers, according to court documents.

Negrito, who retired from GPD last year, is now scheduled to appear in superior court.
