Guam energy strategies to assist 100% renewable energy goal by 2045

Big changes are on the horizon for Guam’s energy future. Formerly known as Guam100, the newly-rebranded Guam Energy Strategies Initiative is setting a bold course toward 100% renewable energy by 2045.
Backed by the US Department of the Interior and powered by a strong partnership between the Guam Power Authority, the National Renewable Energy Lab, and the Guam Energy Office - this group is digging deep into the data to find affordable, reliable energy solutions tailored for Guam.
The goal? A clean energy roadmap that’s community-informed and technically sound—tackling everything from power generation modeling to economic evaluations and public outreach.
Officials say this isn’t just about research. It’s about action—aligning the right voices to make meaningful change. Despite uncertainties in federal funding, project leaders are pressing forward, focused on transparency and progress—laying the groundwork for a sustainable, more resilient Guam.
