A traffic stop in Sinajana led to a major drug bust Tuesday morning.

Guam police say they pulled over a vehicle near the 76 gas station just after 10 a.m. for multiple violations, including no front license plate, missing registration decals, and an expired registration.

But what started as a routine stop quickly escalated.

Behind the wheel, Georgio Paulino Cruz, who was later found with nearly 35 grams of suspected crystal meth and half a gram of suspected cocaine.

Cruz was arrested on suspicion of drug possession and intent to deliver, both schedule II controlled substances. He's since been booked and confined at the Department of Corrections.

Police have closed the case and forwarded it to the Office of the Attorney General for further action.
