Guam Construction Update
Motorists are advised to drive cautiously through the construction zones, observe all posted speed limit and construction signs, and carefully heed flaggers (when present). Alternate routes and/or adjusting drive times when feasible are encouraged. Islandwide Safety Improvements on Primary Roads (Striping and Marking) TO-1: Route 1 from Route 1/Route 6 to Route 1/Route 11 Intersections General construction activities will continue for the Route 1 Striping and Marking Project along Route 1, between the Route 1/Route 6 and Route 1/Route 11 intersections. These activities will involve lane shifts and lane closures.
From Monday, 5/26/25, through Friday, 5/30/25, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the contractor will continue working on pavement striping and markings between Asan Beach Park and Deadman’s Curve, extending through Pacific Welding. Expect multiple intermittent closures on both the northbound and southbound lanes during this period.
No construction activities are scheduled from Saturday, 5/31/25 to Sunday, 6/1/25. Islandwide Primary Roads Paving & Pavement Markings TO-3: Route 8 Pavement Repairs – Barrigada Paving repairs along Route 8 in Barrigada are tentatively scheduled from Monday to Friday, May 26, 2025, to May 30, 2025, between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. On Saturday, May 31, 2025, the Contractor will continue working between Chalan Santo Papa and Route 7A from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Expect multiple intermittent closures on both the northbound and southbound lanes during this period.
No construction activities are scheduled for Sunday, 6/1/25. Route 1 Bush Cutting – Dededo From Tuesday, 5/27/25 to Saturday, 5/31/25 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, please be advised the DPW-HMC crew is scheduled to bush cut along Route 1 starting from Micronesia Mall working northbound. Both northbound and southbound lanes will have bush cutting activity. The DPW asks motorists to please proceed with caution and remain alert for traffic control signs and work crews. Route 17 (Cross Island Road) and Route 4 Bush Cutting – Windward Hills/Yona From Tuesday, 5/27/25 to Saturday, 5/31/25 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, please be advised the DPW-HMC crew will be side cutting along Route 17 from Tarzan Falls to the Route 4 intersection then along Route 4 from the Route 4/Route 17 intersection through Yona. The DPW asks motorists to please proceed with caution and remain alert for traffic control signs and work crews. |
