A jurisdictional hearing was held Tuesday morning in District Court of Guam in Judge Michael Bordallo's courtroom.

As KUAM previously reported, Esteves is accused of assaulting a woman in a Washington, D.C. hotel room earlier this year.

According to his attorney, Jay Arriola, Esteves waived his identity hearing and voluntarily agreed to appear in the Superior Court in the District of Columbia.

Esteves is scheduled to appear in court in D.C. on May 30.

Meantime, in a memo issued by Governor Lou Leon Guerrero, Homeland Security Advisor Esther Aguigui has been detailed to the position of Administrator of the Office of Civil Defense in an acting capacity until further notice.
