Congratulations are in order for over 300 graduates from the Guam Community College.
Three hundred twenty nine students to be exact were celebrated during a commencement ceremony Friday at the University of Guam Calvo Field House.
The GCC Class of 2025 was as diverse as it was accomplished, with 43 students earning their adult high school diplomas, 20 earning their general educational development certificates, 22 journey worker certifications, 76 certificates, 40 Associate of Arts degrees, and 213 Associate of Science degrees.
Among the many highlights of the ceremony was a powerful message from the most distinguished graduate, Charles Oliger, who spoke directly to the heart of overcoming, persisting, and achieving.
“For those of us graduating today, we know that our journey may not have always followed the traditional path–but it’s every bit as meaningful–and in many ways, even more remarkable. Some of us came to this college straight out of high school–others came back after years away from the classroom. Some of us balance full-time jobs, raise children, care for family members, or learn in a second language. Many of us did all of the above. That's the strength of a place like this–it brings together people from all walks of life and says you belong here, you have something to offer, let’s build something together, and we did,” Oliger said.
Again, congratulations on this milestone for the GCC graduating Class of 2025!
