Seven women earn Bureau of Women’s Affairs high school completion scholarships

Seven women who returned to complete their high school diplomas have been awarded scholarships from the Bureau of Women’s Affairs.
The scholarship recipients graduated from Guam Community College’s adult High School program during commencement on May 15 at the UOG Calvo Field House.
They each received a $500 “I Ninametgot Famalåo’an” scholarship from BWA, a program launched in 2022 to encourage women to complete their diplomas.
BWA Director Jayne Flores said the scholarship provides a no-strings attached incentive to help women reclaim their education.
Governor Lou Leon Guerrero praised the graduates for their resilience, saying they are powerful role models who never gave up on their dreams.
