Trial begins July 22 for woman accused in 2024 robbery and murder

It was a crime that shocked the island on Valentine’s Day 2024.
The robbery and fatal shooting of 53-year-old Sumittra Lairopi, a wife and mother of three.
Now, more than a year later, the woman accused of playing a role in the deadly plot is heading to trial.
Jenna Manibusan will face a jury on July 22, charged with complicity in aggravated murder, robbery, and conspiracy.
The case stems from a botched robbery outside a Tamuning restaurant, a violent encounter that claimed Lairopi’s life.
One of Manibusan's co-defendants, Domingo Mendiola, is already serving a life sentence, with parole possible after 40 years.
Prosecutors say he and another man planned the robbery and opened fire during the attack.
In court this week, attorneys worked through evidence and witness planning to avoid delays when jury selection begins
