Guam to host 27th Oceania Customs Organization Annual Conference

Guam is set to welcome customs leaders from across the Pacific as the 27th Annual Oceania Customs Organization Conference kicks off on May 19 and goes through the 23rd.
Under the theme “Driving Efficiency, Security and Sustainability,” the conference will focus on modernizing customs practices in the region with topics ranging from digital transformation and artificial intelligence, to green customs initiatives and combating illicit trade.
Head of Secretariat Nancy Oraka said this year’s gathering comes at a crucial time as regional customs agencies adapt to a rapidly changing trade environment.
Guam Customs Director Ike Peredo, who also chairs the OCO Steering Committee, said the conference will showcase Guam's hospitality while advancing the critical work of customs in Oceania.
Representatives from all 23 OCO members, along with global partners like the United Nations and World Customs Organization, will participate in strategic sessions and leadership forums to build a stronger, more connected region.
