Dept. of Public Works: “No room for delays” as Simon Sanchez High project moves forward

The Department of Public Works confirms it’s on schedule with the new Simon Sanchez High School project, having met its April 30 deadline to respond to all contractor questions.
Proposals are due May 23, and officials say there’s no room for extensions or delays.
The future-ready campus will be built through a public-private partnership and maintained for up to 30 years.
“When the government announced the selection of its construction manager in September last year, serious developers and contractors were put on notice that this project was forthcoming. We’ve done the planning. We’ve done the coordination. This process has been transparent, inclusive, and fully compliant with Guam law,” said DPW Director Vince Arriola.
“At this point, any delay—especially through protest—would not just slow construction- it would hurt students, disrupt families, and stall progress the community has already fought hard to achieve,” added Arriola.
