National Weather Service: Tropical disturbance near Yap and Palau

The National Weather Service Guam Office is keeping an eye on two tropical disturbances near Yap and Palau.
Lead Meteorologist Landon Aydlett gave us the run down.
“Fortunately the tropical disturbances that we have been tracking in western Micronesia will not have a direct impact on Guam or the CNMI. But we could see some more showers and clouds later today and into Saturday as this broad area pushes up to our southwest. So the biggest concern is some heavy showers and thunderstorms and maybe some gusty winds for Yap state. But for Guam and the CNMI, no concern for us but hopefully some much needed rain,” said Aydlett.
“The good news is keep your sunglasses handy. The umbrella will be nice to keep. It’s not going to be a washout. It’s going to be a mix of sun and showers through Saturday night,” Aydlett added.
With the 2nd Annual Pet Festival taking place at the Ypao Beach Park, the Mad Collab Block Party in Hagatna and other outdoor events happening this Saturday, it’s recommended to have both your sunglasses and umbrellas on hand.
