Merizo Martyrs’ Memorial School passes Public Health inspection

The Guam Department of Education celebrates Merizo Martyrs’ Memorial School who passed its recent public health sanitation inspection conducted by the Department of Public Health & Social Services.
The school scored a Grade “B,” with 18 demerits.
“With great pleasure, I can report that this success was based on our one-team approach with our GDOE F&M employees. Although we were not able to address and correct previously cited demerits, the team will continue to work together to strive for a letter grade of A for next school year. With an "All Hands" approach and support from our community partners, we thank all the individuals who have contributed to our success: GDOE Facilities and Maintenance Haya Team led by Ray Meno and Sean Aguon, Mayor Franklin Champaco and his staff, Sodexo, Mr. Jimmy Pangelinan, Mr. Ed Brown, Ms. Sasha Flores, Mr. Nik Cruz, and the Faculty and Staff of MMMS and their families who have all stepped up to ensure the successful outcome of ensuring a safe, clean, and sanitary learning environment for students and staff,” said Erica S. Cepeda, Principal at Merizo Martyrs’ Memorial School.
The grade validates the commitment of the department’s aim for cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and adherence to safety regulations.
As MMMS moves forward, the school will continue to reinforce health protocols as the school remains committed to providing an educational setting where health and safety are paramount.
