Nearby grass fire prompted early dismissal at B.P. Carbullido Elementary

It was an early end to the school day for the Home of the Ko’kos at B.P. Carbullido Elementary today, due to poor air quality from a nearby fire.  

Units with the Guam Fire Department responded to reports of smoke sightings behind the Barrigada campus at around 9:40 a.m., confirming the cause to be of grass and fire. 

The Guam Department of Education confirmed students were safely  evacuated from the school and released.
