Trump executive order eyes Guam in push to restore maritime dominance

President Trump's latest executive order on maritime dominance could open the door to new economic and security opportunities for Guam.
Titled "Restoring America's Maritime Dominance," the order creates a maritime security trust fund, a shipbuilding financial incentives program, and designates maritime prosperity zones.
Guam is expected to play a key role in the upcoming maritime action plan, which will be submitted to the president within the next 210 days.
Local leaders said they'll work closely with Congress, including through the House Armed Services Committee, to ensure Guam is a central focus in developing strategies for the Indo-Pacific region.
The executive order aims to strengthen America's maritime presence, and Guam could stand to benefit economically and strategically as part of that vision.
