Drunken man attacks expectant mother

A drunken man is under arrest accused of attacking a pregnant woman known to him.

22-year-old Jarel Sillem is charged with aggravated assault, family violence and assault of an unborn child.   

Court documents state Sillem attacked the expectant mother with a metal chain.

A witness allegedly told police Sillem yanked the victim down the stairs before hitting her with a chain and kicking her.

The woman declined transport to the hospital for treatment.
