Police officer, emergency dispatcher commended for “life saving action”

Recognizing the heroism of two people on Saipan for their part in saving the life of a young boy.
The CNMI Department of Public Safety and the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services recently commended two of their own.
Police Officer Vince Igitol and Emergency Dispatcher Karay Fitial were recognized for their immediate life-saving actions during an emergency call on Oct. 23 of last year.
Officials said their actions saved the life of a 12-year-old, adding officer Igitol and dispatcher Fitial demonstrated exceptional bravery and quick thinking that saved a life and their selfless actions are a testament to their dedication to serving and protecting our community.
