Our island lost a passionate physician, a devoted naval officer, and a cherished and active member of the community whose work made countless positive contributions locally, as Dr. Gabriel Lombard passed away the day after Christmas. Dr. Peter Lombard, Gabriel's first son and second of three children, followed in his father's footsteps into the Navy and into medicine, and reflected on the life and achievements of a man we all admired, but who always knew as "Pop".

Dr. Gabriel Lombard will be laid to rest this Saturday following mass at the Hagatna Cathedral. He was 82 years old.
