New Consul General of Japan for Guam gets to work

There's a new Consul General of Japan in Guam.
Ueda Susumu, from Hiroshima prefecture, assumed the position on Nov. 15.
Ueda previously held several key positions in Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to include first secretary at the Japan embassies in Greece and Bulgaria and most recently as Director of the Health and Welfare Division of the Minister’s Secretariat.
In his greeting through the Hagatna embassy, he said in part, “To further deepen the strong ties between Japan and Guam, I look forward to working in building further the cooperative relationships with the local government and legislative members, as well as members of the local community in Guam. Following in the footsteps of my predecessors, I consider it my important mission to reflect on past events and remain attuned to the sentiments of the People of Guam."
