Former Rota resident survives Hurricane Helene

Hurricane Helene killed at least 90 people in North Carolina , South Carolina , Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, and Virginia over the weekend.

The huge clean-up effort began after the hurricane knocked out power for millions, destroyed roads and bridges, and caused dramatic flooding from florida to virginia.

A Rota native sharing images from her home in Florida as she and her family braved severe weather conditions.

Damage estimates ranged from $15 billion to more than $100 billion, insurers and forecasters said, as water systems, communications, and critical transportation routes were affected.
