The Aydlett Brothers and the Tower Team will soon break ground on their next toy timber construction project on Guam.

Set to take place in the Center Court at the Agana Shopping Center, this project will be a scaled replica of Taiwan’s Taipei 101.

In what will be among their largest toy timber structures so far, the tower will reach to the top of the shopping center’s Center Court, using nearly 100,000 individual toy timber logs. Similar to the recent Empire State Building construction in August, this tower will surpass the double Guinness World Record-setting tower in June 2022.

The tower will also feature custom-made logs carved specifically for this construction.

Construction will begin at 10 a.m. on Oct. 1, 2024 with a hopeful completion date of Oct. 9, 2024.

Construction will be ongoing during shopping center hours, possibly after hours, depending on daily progress, as the Tower Team aims to have the marathon construction completed by Oct. 9.

The community is welcome to volunteer during shopping center hours to assist with the construction, particularly between Oct. 1 and 5.

This tower project, the 5th since the Tower for Humanity’s beginning in June 2022, and the second of back-to-back events this year, will host the second Annual community-wide Canstruction Guam Food Drive and charity event with Be Heartfelt.

Second Annual Canstruction Guam Food Drive and Competition the Tower Team is excited to join with Be Heartfelt to host the second Annual Canstruction Guam Competition and island-wide food drive.

With the simple goal of feeding hungry kids on Guam by providing weekend meals for children in need, every canned good and donation collected improves the quality of life for an individual.

Organizations are encouraged to sign up as a canned food drop site and/or run their own food drive campaign through September and early October then form teams to build their own creation with those canned goods at the Agana Shopping Center.

Prizes will be awarded for teams with the best design/most creative, most public votes via social media, and the most canned goods collected.

Food Drive/Canstruction Teams will collect goods through September and early October, then bring their collected goods to the Agana Shopping Center on Friday, Oct. 11 for set up.

The Taipei 101 was selected for this event due to its iconic architecture and its picturesque structure towering over Taipei. This unique tower, with its resilient construction engineered to handle nature’s worst.

This tower also aims to help commemorate the Taiwan Community of Guam during the Taiwan National Day / Double Ten Day, which takes place on Oct. 10.

In partnership with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office on Guam, this event aims to recognize and highlight the contributions of the Taiwan community to the vitality of, and to the rich, cultural diversity found on, the island of Guam.
