Local prosecutor Sean Brown is ready to take his seat on the bench.

Brown recently appeared before senators for a public hearing on his appointment to serve as a Magistrate Judge in the Superior Court of Guam.

Multiple members of the legal community testified in support of attorney Brown's appointment to the bench.

Brown testified why he is right for the job.

Brown’s statement:

"When I do trials, I try to consider what the defense is going to say. In doing that the last 10 years I have a good idea of where they are coming from...I will always be fair and I think my time at the AG's office only made me more fair. I believe I will be efficient, I'll be fast, I'll be consistent. I have handled 500 cases at a time in my office....We are going to cases if you guys let me become a magistrate judge. We are going to get things done. People will be heard. People will get their day in court. I am not just a lawyer. I'm a family man. Above all, I want to be a good father and a good husband. I've never put my family aside to chase my career. My wife was the first person I talked to when I said I'm going to apply for this job and she's always been my biggest supporter. So I'm not just a lawyer, I'm a human being too and I am going to carry that out as a judge if you guys let me. I was always teaching at UOG and maybe when this career of my is over I may go back to that...I have to do the bigger cases now so I can't waste my time on anything that's not my children, not my wife and not immediately chasing justice. I just want to highlight that I am not just a lawyer and law degree, I am a human being."

Chief Justice Robert Torres recommended Brown to be the next magistrate judge, as magistrate Benjamin Sison's term is set to expire.
