Millions for GDOE maintenance to be heard in supplemental appropriations

Amendments proposed to Bill 236 are not being heard during today's budget session, including one that seeks to allocate $10 million to the Guam Department of Education for maintenance, proposed by the committee chair on education, Senator Chris Barnett.
Barnett's amendment, along with others targeting Fiscal Year 2024 excess revenues and projected FY25 excess revenues, will be considered in a supplemental appropriations bill.
However, Senator Barnett told KUAM, "I’m looking at all avenues to get GDOE the support they need."
Meanwhile, Talo'fo'fo' Elementary School has received its official renewal sanitary report from Public Health, the southern school passing with an "A" rating, with only 9 demerits.
