Man allegedly attempting to cash forged check found with meth

A tip alleging that two employees were stealing checks from the Guam Fisherman’s Co-op led to the arrest of one of the two individuals.
Timothy Ray Barcenilla, 32, is charged with attempted theft by deception (excess of $1500) and forgery (by complicity) as second-degree felonies, and possession of a schedule II controlled substance as a third-degree felony.
Court documents state Barcenilla was a suspect in stolen checks from the Fisherman’s Co-op and was allegedly trying to cash them at Canlas Express in Dededo.
With police notified, they arrived on scene and advised Barcenilla of his Miranda rights, however, Barcenilla waived them.
He told police he was trying to cash a forged check totaling $1,873.07.
Barcenilla was then taken to Dededo precinct for further questioning and provided a statement in which he and another individual plotted to cash checks from the Fisherman’s Co-op. He allegedly admitted to doing it more than 15 times.
Police also noted Barcenilla had a small resealable baggie with a white crystalline substance in his pants pocket.
