Guam and the Northern Marianas joined the nation in a celebratory roll call at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, throwing their entire support behind Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz to lead the party’s ticket.

“We proudly cast our 12 voted to the next first female president of the U.S.A. Biba Kamala! Biba Kamala ! Biba Kamala,” said Governor Lou Leon Guerrero.

Democratic Party CNMI representative Nola Hix also gave some words, saying, “We are the blue waves of the Pacific and we are proud to cast all 11 votes for our MVP, Kamala Harris. Biba Marianas!”

Harris and Walz accepted the nomination from a rally in Wisconsin before they take the DNC stage later this week.

“We are so honored to be your nominees. This is a people powered campaign and together we will chart a new way forward,” said U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris.

Former president Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama also spoke to delegates at the end of day two.

“So no matter how good we feel tonight, or tomorrow, or the next day, this is going to be an uphill battle,” former First Lady Michelle Obama said.

“And together we too will build a country that is more secure and more just, more equal, and more free. So let's get to work,” added former President Barack Obama.
