A man who admitted to his part in a stealing an ambulance from the Guam Fire Department apologized for his crime.
Twenty-four-year-old Davidson Yoichi was sentenced to 3 years in the Department of Corrections prison.
He learned his fate before Judge Vernon Perez in Superior Court on Tuesday.
“I’d like to apologize for my actions. I just hope I can have a second chance,” said Yoichi. “I want to do better with my life.”
In Aug. 2023, the ambulance was stolen while medics were responding to a sick person call.
It was then found ditched at Zero Down in Yigo days later, damaged and defaced with graffiti.
In May, co-defendant 28-eight-year old Jeff Meitawan was acquitted by a jury at trial for his part in the theft.
Yoichi took the prosecution’s plea deal admitting to charges of theft of a motor vehicle prior to the acquittal.
Yoichi will also serve one year parole after he is released from prison.
