Cabrera admits to killing brother on Saipan

Over in the CNMI, 78-year-old Moses Cabrera admitted to killing his 71-year-old brother Pedro Cabrera and dumping his body at the Garapan Fishing Base on Saipan last week.
Moses Cabrera told CNMI police that he and his brother, Pedro, got into a heated disagreement about family land which led to a physical altercation, according to court documents.
Pedro allegedly threatened to stab Moses at their family compound.
Moses later confessed to CNMI police that he killed his brother using a hammer to hit his head and later left his body in the Garapan area.
Cabrera appeared in the CNMI Superior Court on Monday.
He was remanded to the Department of Corrections on $250,000 cash bail. He’s set to be in court on Aug. 9 for a preliminary hearing and on Aug. 19 for arraignment.
