The Dededo Senior Center is where the missile defense agency is hoping more people show up tonight.

It's here you will get to ask questions and address any concerns you might have about the flight tests they will conduct on our island for the next decade.

Mark Wright with the Missile Defense Agency told KUAM, “This event isn't meant for the people of the island. anyone who wants to come and learn more about flight experiment mission 02. It's an important missile defense test that we are going to do launching off the island. It will be launched from Andersen Air Force base just off the northern part to minimize disruption to the rest of the island and we want people to learn about it. We conducted an environmental assessment to make sure it's not going to interfere with wildlife or people...I think it's an important test and I hope the people support it.”

The MDA plans to conduct intercept flight tests on Guam.

The proposal is to launch a standard missile interceptor from a tilted vertical launching system located on Andersen Air Force Base.

That would target any medium range ballistic missile coming north east of Guam.

The goal is to track and intercept it over the ocean but officials are here to make sure that public health and safety are prioritized as they conduct these tests.

Additionally, officials said there are no direct or indirect impacts on known cultural resources or historic properties on the base.

The MDA added the environmental analysis indicates there would be a less than significant impact on cultural resources.

Landowners who may be impacted during the Guam flights tests are also being given notices on the upcoming information meeting for them in September.

This open house will continue until 8 p.m. here at the Dededo Senior Center.

The comment period on the proposed flight test ends on Aug. 2.
