An argument at a Sinajana residence led to a home in flames and one man allegedly responsible.

Twenty-eight-year-old Robert Atinimwar is charged with aggravated arson as a second-degree felony with a special allegation of crime against the community, criminal mischief as a third-degree felony, and family violence as a third-degree felony.

According to court documents, Guam police officers received a structure fire report and an assault complaint in Sinajana.

After an interview with the victim, they noted Atinimwar was her boyfriend.

It was alleged Atinimwar repeatedly hit the victim before she was able to get away. After sometime, the victim noted she fell asleep after and woke up to her curtains on fire.

Guam Fire confirmed the curtain fire spread to the rest of the home.

Court documents also stated an additional complaint of a male individual refusing to leave another residence was received by police. The male was identified as Atinimwar.

While detained, Atinimwar allegedly admitted to punching the victim but said he left before any fire started.

It was additionally stated the victim has a restraining order on Atinimwar and is involved in a separate family violence case.
