Parties involved in a lawsuit filed by several public school parents were back before a Superior Court Judge today.

As KUAM reported, those parents, who have children with disabilities, allege the Guam Department of Education and the Guam Education Board broke the law when they failed to provide the students with an adequate learning environment.

The attorneys representing the parents contend they intended to inspect the George Washington High School campus Tuesday to ensure it meets health and safety requirements ahead of classes starting on Aug. 8.

Instead, attorney Daniel Somerfleck told the court they were left waiting at the front gate and never got to inspect.

Meantime, parties await Judge Elyze Iriarte's decision on the education department’s request to have the lawsuit dismissed.
