Trial continues this week in the case against murder defendant Giltinanan Ramangmou.
She stands accused in the November 1 death of her 1-year-old baby boy.
Defense claims she is not responsible for the child's death.
Chief medical examiner Dr. Jeffery Nine testified for the prosecution, stating, "The cause of death was blunt force head injuries due to battered child syndrome and the manner of death is homicide." Prosecutor Sean Brown asked, "You said blunt force head injuries?" to which Dr. Nine replied, "Yes".
"Can you recall if it was one injury to his head, several injuries that were the most relevant to his actual passing? How many injuries were relevant to his actual passing?" continued Brown, with Nine responding by saying, "The relevance of his actual passing was severe head trauma and there was one very significant blow to the back of the head."
Trial continues before Superior Court Judge Vernon Perez.
No word yet if Ramangmou will take the stand.
