A look inside the Encore Theater for the 2024 Primary Congressional Forum as democratic candidates for Guam delegate, Michael San Nicolas and Ginger Cruz will get 60 seconds to answer questions from the community and the KUAM News team.

Team KUAM spent weeks planning and preparing, setting the stage for the participating candidates.

KUAM Production’s Jen Chargualaf and her crew made it happen even through the weekend.

“You are supervising our production team for this forum. Jen, what went into making this happen,” asked KUAM.

“Oh man, everything. Heart and soul, sweat and tears, and good planning and a really strong team,” Chargualaf said.

The team hauled multiple loads of equipment to the theater.

“We have about five monitors set up right now, three servers and a whole bunch of cables running up and down this place just to make everything great,” she said.

KUAM’s Jason Salas was also on top of checking streaming access, saying, “We want people to actually have the information and know about the candidates to consider when they go to the polls. So this is the perfect venue to exhibit that.”

A total of nine local organizations are asking questions as well.

We asked the candidates to share how they feel ahead of the forum.

“Looking forward to hearing everybody’s concerns and being able to present our platform and what I think needs to be done in Washington DC,” said Ginger Cruz.

Candidate Amanda Shelton declined to participate and Incumbent James Moylan will be on official congressional business.

The forum is being held in partnership with the Crowne Plaza Resort and will air tonight from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on KUAM TV and stream on KUAM’s YouTube channel and on Peacock.
