A special guest and Guam liberator arrived on the island overnight.

Marine Corporal Frank Wright was welcomed in true Hafa Adai fashion at the A.B. Won Pat International Airport on Sunday.

The Guam Visitors Bureau along with Camp Blaz marines and the Governor and Lt. Governor attended the welcoming event.

Wright is one of the heroic liberators who helped to free Guam during the Japanese occupation in World War II.

He was wounded by a bayonet in the stomach while liberating the island.

He currently lives in California.

Corporal Wright has also written a book “Battles of the Pacific: World War II, My Personal War Causing PTSD” and is currently working on his second book.

Be sure to give him a 'Hafa Adai' welcome when you spot him along the Liberation Day parade route.
