"I'm not the shooter." That's what murder defendant Domingo Mendiola told the prosecution after being offered a plea deal to admit to the Valentine's Day killing at the Thai Thai Restaurant in Tamuning.

Co-defendants Mendiola and Jenna Manibusan appeared before Presiding Judge Alberto Lamorena in the Superior Court of Guam today.

An investigator testified today that Mendiola asked that his co-defendant Manibusan be released claiming she had nothing to do with the deadly robbery.

The couple are now seeking to go to trial separately.

Lamorena took the matter under advisement.

As KUAM reported, the pair stand accused in the shooting death of Sumittra Lairopi.

The deadly robbery occurred outside of the Thai Thai Restaurant in February.

Meantime, defendant Johnny Atalig was indicted for his alleged involvement in the robbery, but his case has been sealed.
